Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha (BNPS) have been working jointly under the project Promoting Rights through Mobilization and Empowerment (PRiME)’ with traditional leaders since 2013.
Objectives:
• Disadvantaged women in the project area will improve their socio-economic status
• Women and girls in the project area will be protected from violence against children
Activities:
The main activities are implementing under the project:
Organize dialogue meetings with Headmen, Karbaries, Advocate, Youth representative, and other elites to strengthening the traditional justice system.
Research CHT Traditional Justice System and sharing with stakeholders.
Organize Lobby meeting with circle Chief, Headmen, Hill district Council, Women forum, and other elites for reviewing customary laws in Bandarban district.
Organize a campaign for reviewing customary laws, stop VAW, Early child marriage, and marriage registration in ethnic society.
Organize training on Gender and Leadership development for women representatives (Headmen & Karbaries) of the customary institutions in Bandarban Bomong circle.
